Amira Firdaus is currently Head of the Unit for Leadership and Wellbeing at the Academic Enhancement & Leadership Development Centre (ADeC), in University of Malaya (UM). Malaysia. Amira looks after ADeC workshops on leadership development, promotion of wellbeing, and intercultural competence among academic staff, as well as training of new faculty. Amira is also a Senior Lecturer at UM's Department of Media Studies, Faculty of Arts & Social Science.
Amira has a deep, albeit layperson interest, in the intersection between Positive Psychology and ADD. Amira's multi-disciplinary research interests span across the fields of positive psychology, ageing, organizational studies, as well as media and communication.
Amira holds a PhD in communication from the University of Melbourne. Her first international book Network Newswork: Media Globalization and Digital Journalism in Malaysia (Routledge, 2018) is currently available from Routledge, Taylor and Francis, as well as Amazon, Google Books and other retailers.
